Consultations & Treatments

As a fully qualified Clinical Essential Oil Therapist and member of the International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists, I offer bespoke personal consultations and expertly blended aromatherapeutic treatments to support and alleviate symptoms, creating immediate and lasting effects. My practise is committed to the care of locating and only using certified organic and wild crafted oils of the highest botanical quality that are farmed sustainably by small scale producers.

The Initial Consultation (60 Minutes) £50

A commitment to client safe-care means a detailed and thorough consultation process is crucial to ensuring that all treatments are safe to use alongside with any current medical protocols and medications, specifically working in tandem with your healthcare provider. After booking, I will send a link to a short online form for you to complete before your in-person initial consultation. This allows you to provide any relevant information regarding your current & previous symptoms, medical procedures and medications to help define what your health support needs are and any potential contraindications or precautions necessary.

This will be followed by your initial consultation which will last around 60 minutes. During this session we will discuss and establish a detailed report of your health history, your family medical history and your current symptoms as set out on your questionnaire form. This comprehensive appraisal of your health will allow us to:

  • Identify any personal precautions required in the light of the your health history or current medication.

  • Define your aims and expectations for the suggested treatments.

  • Enable discussion of the various options of delivery method for your treatments, needs and preferences.

  • Create a plan for the series of treatments.

The initial consultation fee includes the additional 1-2 hours for post-consultation research and blending time of your specific treatments. Following your initial consultation, your bespoke treatment will be formulated and available 7 days later. This can be collected in-person from the clinic or posted to you, if required, for the cost of postage and packaging. Written instructions on the safe use and application of your prepared treatments will be included.

Follow up Consultation (30-45 minutes) £35

Follow-up consultations allow for ongoing support where required as well as remaining in step with any adaptions to the essential oil application as your treatment evolves. Your follow up consultation enables you to:

  • Discuss and review your symptoms, progress and experience of your treatment.

  • Feedback on any changes in symptoms arising from your treatment.

  • Consider if any changes to your treatments are needed.

  • Establish any new treatment plan required evolved from your feedback.

  • The follow up consultation fee includes any additional post consultation research and blending time.

The follow-up consultation fee includes additional post-consultation research and blending time of your treatments.

Repeat Treatments

Requests for repeat treatments are available by telephone or email. Following some mini-screening and feedback questions I will either prepare your treatment for collection or posting and advise if a follow up consultation is required.

More About Aromatherapy

maurice gattefosse.jpeg

René-Maurice Gattefossé

The term 'Aromatherapy'  or 'Aromatherapie' was coined in 1928 by René-Maurice Gattefossé, a French chemist who was an inspired and creative formula researcher for essences and perfume. Gattefossé became a founding father of the present day use of essential oils for healing, led by treating severe burns to his own hands with lavender essential oil after a serious accident  while working in his laboratory.  As his wounds began to show signs of gangrene, he recalled that local lavender farmers had told him that burns could be healed with lavender essential oil. Removing his bandages he covered his hands with lavender oil with astounding results. Just two days later, his fever passed, infection disappeared, and his wounds healed without scarring. This experience radically changed his life and he became committed to promoting the use of essential oils in medical care, treating hospitalised soldiers wounded in the war and on to write the first official book on Aromatherapy. eventually he established the Gattefossé Foundation who tirelessly continue to research and collaborate with medical centres and practitioners to champion the irrefutable healing properties of essential oils.

Essential oil production is a natural cycle of  plants and trees, therefore they are easily incorporated by our bodies. Once absorbed, the active essential oil compounds interact with our body’s functional and physical systems with numerous beneficial effects including antiseptic, anxiolytic, sedative and anti-inflammatory, to name but a few...
After your initial aromatherapy consultation and creating your bespoke treatment plan, I make your agreed treatment application, which may include holistic massage if appropriate. This will be booked for a separate session.

Depending on the duration of the treatment and areas of the body chosen to work on, you will need to remove jewellery and any clothing covering these areas, in general, wearing loose comfortable old clothing is best. It's best to avoid heavy meals and alcohol in the hours leading up to your massage.

Being content, warm and comfortable during your treatment is important for relaxation. The option to play music will help you to unwind or if you'd prefer not to have it, the treatment can be quiet, this also goes for talking. Remaining sensitive to how much you want to communicate is paramount, allowing you to gain the most from your experience.
